| Realizing the need for decentralized production of biopesticides, M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation has helped a group of agricultural women labourers in the production process of biopesticide, an egg parasitoid - Trichogramma and its host Corcyra. During the last 3 years thousands of acres of land have been covered with these cards to control the pest 'American Bollworm' and stem borer of sugarcane. This biopesticide is suitable for sugar cane, cotton, and vegetable crops like bhindi, sunflower, gram varieties, tomato etc. |
