Community Learning Centre (CLC) is computer based knowledge centers with Internet connection provides need based static and dynamic information. Eleven CLCs operating in the region are connected with a 'hub' in the center as nodal point, which receives the generic information and adds value by converting it to locale specific information. The local community manages the CLCs; access is ensured to all irrespective of caste, class, gender and age. Need based content creation is regularly done on the basis of the need assessment and feed back from the local women and men visit the center.
Apart from providing need based information, CLCs facilitate functional literacy through promoting learner specific learning/training materials with the support of modern ICT, which helps them to strengthen/improve their livelihoods and computer literacy among students. Two local volunteers (basically one male and one female ) are identified from the respective villages and appointed as Animator in each centre. These animators are taking care of the entire operations of the CLC. The hub centre is managed by a Hub centre Manager.
