SHG Federation: Kulumai

It is a federation of Self Help Groups established during 2000-01 and registered under Trust act.

Around 150 SHGs are members, of which 109 are women groups, nine of them are mixed groups and 32 are men groups. The total individual membership is nearly 1800 persons. The large proportions of the members belong to the small and marginal farming and landless labourers households. Nearly 72.5 % of the groups belong to Backward Community and 24.17 are Scheduled Castes, and scheduled tribes to 1.34 %.

It facilitates the formation of new SHGs, training on SHG management, acting as a community bank, facilitating entrepreneurship and SHG managed enterprises and supporting credit linkages with banks.

Recently it initiated Kulumai Livelihood Promotion Cell (KLPC) to provide support services for ecoenterprises on technology, market and financial services.
