Paper and Boards from Banana Waste

Waste Papers and boards are being manufactured using banana waste as raw materials. M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai has encouraged a group of landless women agricultural labourers to start an enterprise for producing paper and .boards in an eco-friendly manner. The women labourers of Sevanakiraipatti of Dindigul have formed a Self-Help Group (SHG) called "Jhansirani Women Self Help Group". They were trained by "Centre for Science in Villages" Wardha in the techniques of producing the paper and boards from banana waste. On 14th April 2001, this group has inaugurated the production process. For further details contact: |
